Our aim is to encourage people who are interested in art by providing opportunities to further their skills, to exhibit their work, or just to watch and enjoy. We welcome anyone who has an interest in art, regardless of ability. Our membership of around 80 ranges from professionals to Sunday painters. Some of our members have been painting for many years, others are beginners, but we all share a passion for our art and are keen to encourage each other. Visit the Painting Gallery and Craft Gallery to see a selection of our work
Demonstrations and Lectures by professional artists are held monthly and provide a valuable opportunity to observe and ask questions about their technique. Studio evenings take place monthly, on a Monday. Tuition is not given but a model is provided for members to sketch in a sympathetic atmosphere. Several one day exhibitions are held during the year, and the centrepiece of the group’s activities is the Annual Exhibition, held in the Autumn. We are always trying to improve members’ opportunities to show and sell their work and usually manage to fit several other shows into the programme.
Please see our Membership page for details of how to join us and to download an application form.
