For the past nine years we have had the good fortune to hold our Annual Exhibition in the Gallery of Pitshanger Manor. There was a building there in the mid-seventeenth century but it wasn't until the early nineteenth century that the the elegant manor house was designed and built by Sir John Soane. It passed through several hands until 1900 when it was acquired by the then Ealing Urban District Council and became a free public library. This moved to a purpose-built library in Ealing Town Centre in the mid-1980s and the Manor underwent major reburbishment. Now, with the award of a grant from, among others, the Lottery Heritage Fund, the Manor will once again have restoration and developement work done to preserve this beautiful example of Georgian architecture. The work begins this Spring and will last three years. Click HERE to read more about Pitzhanger Manor .
